The skin is the body's largest organ.
It does an impressive job of protecting us against external
effects, while also regulating body evaporation.
Your skin needs to be healthy and well cared for to function
effectively.
To look after your skin properly then, you need to give it lots of
moisture every day, as well as that bit of extra care at regular
intervals, using a good, effective body scrub.
A body scrub uses small mineral particles to remove dead skin cells
and leave your skin feeling smooth and revitalized.
When the dead skin cells have been removed, your skin provides a
better base for absorbing the skincare products applied
afterwards.
Even though we care for our skin throughout our lives, it will
inevitably become thinner as we get older. The skin's cells and
tissue break down with age, and it can therefore no longer produce
the amount of moisture it needs. As a result, we need to moisturize
our skin increasingly with age in order to retain its elasticity
and glow.
Moisture, moisture and more moisture is the rule of thumb for
caring for your skin. It is essential to use care products every
day that moisturize your skin, and make sure that it has enough
moisture from when you wake up in the morning, to when you go to
bed at night and even when you sleep.
There is no such thing as sensitive skin. But many people feel that
their skin is sensitive because they have an allergy or a skin
disorder that is not visible, which is triggered when they use
creams, to which their body is hypersensitive. Even though you may
not be suffering either from an allergy or skin disorder, your skin
may feel sensitive at times if it goes out of balance. This does
not necessarily mean that dry skin is sensitive, just that you have
chosen the wrong cream product because it is not moisturising your
skin sufficiently.
Smoking contributes to drying out the skin because cigarettes
contain various toxic substances that bind the body's fluid to
itself and prevent the skin from absorbing moisture from
inside.
